Arminda Atil, Acupuncturist
Arminda Atil is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, CA. Because many of her instructors were from mainland China and Korea, Arminda was privileged to learn Chinese and Korean style needling techniques. A yearlong internship at the Pflieger Center/Cri-Help Drug and Treatment Center in Burbank, CA taught her the NADA (North American Detoxification Association) protocol for using ear acupuncture and meditation techniques to treat the symptoms of alcohol and drug withdrawal symptoms and stop smoking cessation.
After graduation, Arminda completed an Advanced Acupuncture and Moxibustion Internship at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center in Beijing China. Arminda was immersed in a rigorous program of advanced acupuncture, Herbology and Taoist philosophy from eminent Chinese acupuncturists. This month-long internship led Arminda to a deeper understanding of acupuncture’s esoteric origins and prompted her to further study Tai Chi, Medical Qigong and meditation and how to incorporate these energy modalities in relieving physical and mental pain.
Arminda has worked as an acupuncturist in the Coachella Valley since 2007 and is very impressed with the active lifestyle of many of her desert patients. She is a passionate proponent of using acupuncture to help relieve her patients of physical pain but also incorporates Chinese nutritional guidance and mediation techniques she first learned in China to also help her patients balance emotional challenges as they struggle with chronic pain or deteriorating health conditions. Since she shares an office with Dr. Ron Delaire, Chiropractor, the combination of chiropractic and acupuncture has proven beneficial in their patients’ pain management.
When she’s not busy needling her patients, Arminda enjoys hiking, gardening and studying sitar.
